The
Sanyo VI 2300 is a great phone! I've had it for about 5
days & cannot find a single significant flaw. I got it from Radio Shack
for $30 when adding a new line of service to my Sprint account.
PROS: outstanding reception/signal strength. My place of work is - in
essence - and underground bunker, in which my LG5350 got no signal at
all. The Sprint VI 2300 gets a full bar (better than any
other phone), and I can place clear calls while in the building. Outside
the building, areas where I had one or maybe two bars on the LG, I get
the full five w/the Sanyo.
Battery life also seems to be exceptional: after a full night of
charging & a full day of use the battery indicator is full on Day 2.
Menu navigation is also quite easy & intuitive; moving from LG to the
Sanyo was very easy.
The internal color display is also nice & bright, very clear & easy to
see in all light conditions.
I also like the fact that this handset includes SMS capability &
ReadyLink too (not to mention alarm clock, calculator, PIM, world clock)
- all for $30 after rebate!
CONS:
the only con of this phone for some will be the absence of entertainment
tools. There were no games included, which I only mildly miss. For those
looking for tons of bells & whistles, there's no camera, nor the ability
to access streaming media.
For me, these are not Cons at all. I require great reception, and want
strong battery life. The only frills I really need are WAP access for
occasional wireless web browsing, and occasional text messaging. This
handset delivers it all w/typical - yet extraordinary - Sanyo quality. I
have yet to discover a weakness in this handset. For a mid-level phone
w/out camera - which believe it or not some of us would never use - this
handset is an unequivocal champ!
